Acceptance of These Terms
These Terms of Use apply to Scanora: PDF Scan ("Scanora"), a document scanning app for iPhone published by GuruApps LLC ("GuruApps," "we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, accessing, purchasing, subscribing to, or using Scanora, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and applicable Apple App Store terms. If you do not agree, do not use Scanora.
Relationship to Apple Terms and EULA
Scanora is distributed through the Apple App Store. Your download, purchase, subscription, renewal, cancellation, refund request, and use of Apple platform features may also be governed by Apple's App Store, Apple Media Services, payment, and device account rules.
Unless a separate custom end user license agreement is shown for Scanora in App Store Connect or on the App Store, Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to your license to use the app. These Terms supplement that license with Scanora-specific rules, subscription terms, and scanning and OCR limitations.
License to Use Scanora
Subject to these Terms and applicable App Store rules, GuruApps grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Scanora on Apple-branded devices that you own or control and as permitted by Apple's usage rules.
You may not copy, resell, redistribute, sublicense, modify, reverse engineer, attempt to derive the source code of, interfere with, bypass usage limits in, or misuse Scanora, except where applicable law expressly permits such activity.
About Scanora
Scanora is designed to capture paper documents and create digital documents and PDFs. Features may include automatic page and edge detection, multi-page scanning, perspective correction, cropping, rotation, filters, retaking and reordering pages, optical character recognition (OCR), document library search, suggested document names, PDF creation, saving, and sharing.
Features may differ by device model, operating system version, language, region, permissions, available storage, network access, subscription status, and app version.
Your Documents and Responsible Use
You are responsible for the documents and other content you scan, import, save, name, search, export, or share through Scanora. You represent that you have the legal right and any necessary permission to capture, process, possess, and share that content.
You may not use Scanora to violate privacy, confidentiality, intellectual property, data protection, recordkeeping, export control, or other applicable laws or contractual obligations. Do not use Scanora to create, alter, conceal, or distribute fraudulent, deceptive, illegal, or harmful documents.
Sensitive and Important Documents
Think carefully before scanning or sharing sensitive documents, including identity documents, financial information, medical records, legal files, student records, confidential business materials, passwords, or authentication codes. You are responsible for protecting your device, Apple Account, exported files, backups, and any destination to which you send a document.
Scanora is a convenience tool and is not a certified archival, records-management, evidence-preservation, legal filing, accounting, medical, or regulatory compliance system. Keep original documents when required and maintain appropriate independent backups of important files.
Scanning, Enhancement, and OCR Limitations
Automatic edge detection, perspective correction, cropping, filters, image enhancement, suggested names, OCR, and search results are estimates generated from the captured image and available device capabilities. Results may be incomplete, inaccurate, distorted, or unreadable because of lighting, shadows, glare, blur, folds, handwriting, page layout, language, font, image quality, camera movement, device performance, or software errors.
Always review every page and all recognized text before saving, sharing, submitting, paying, signing, relying on, or deleting an original document. Scanora does not guarantee that a scan is a complete, exact, legally valid, or admissible reproduction of the original. Do not rely on OCR output as the sole source for legal, financial, medical, academic, tax, compliance, or other important decisions.
Free Version Limits
The free version of Scanora supports up to 3 saved documents and up to 5 pages per saved document. Usage limits may be enforced within the app. GuruApps may adjust free limits or feature availability in future versions, subject to applicable law and any notice required by the App Store.
Scanora Pro Subscription
Scanora offers optional Pro features through an auto-renewing subscription. The subscription available at launch is Scanora Pro Monthly for $5.99 per month and unlocks unlimited saved documents and unlimited pages. Prices may vary by country or region, currency, tax treatment, Apple pricing rules, promotions, and the App Store configuration shown at the time of purchase.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically unless canceled before the end of the current billing period as required by Apple.
- Your Apple Account may be charged for renewal before the current billing period ends in accordance with the terms shown by Apple.
- You can manage or cancel the subscription in your Apple Account subscription settings after purchase.
- Deleting Scanora does not automatically cancel an active subscription.
The subscription name, duration, price, renewal details, and included features are shown in Scanora and on Apple's purchase sheet before you confirm a purchase. If Apple's purchase interface shows terms that differ from this page, the terms displayed by Apple at the time of purchase control the purchase and billing process.
Managing or Canceling a Subscription
Subscription billing is managed by Apple. You can review Apple's current instructions for managing or canceling a subscription on the Apple Support website. Cancellation generally takes effect at the end of the then-current paid period, subject to the terms displayed by Apple and applicable law.
Restore Purchases and Access
Scanora may provide a restore purchases option so eligible subscribers can restore Pro access on supported devices. Subscription access depends on Apple's purchase records, your Apple Account, App Store availability, network connectivity, and Scanora's ability to validate entitlement status.
Refunds
App Store purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple. Refund eligibility, approval, timing, and payment reversal are controlled by Apple and applicable App Store policies. GuruApps cannot guarantee that a refund request will be approved. You can review Apple's current refund process on the Apple Support website.
Permissions, Storage, and Sharing
Scanora may request access to device features such as the camera, photo library, files, Siri, storage, or sharing services. Certain features may not work, or may work with reduced functionality, if required permissions are denied, restricted, unavailable, or disabled.
When you export or share a document, the receiving app, service, person, or storage provider controls what happens to that copy under its own terms and privacy practices. GuruApps is not responsible for a document after you send it to a third party or save it outside Scanora.
Data Loss and Backups
Device loss, app deletion, operating system changes, insufficient storage, file corruption, synchronization issues, user action, or software errors may cause documents or related information to become unavailable. You are responsible for exporting and backing up important documents. GuruApps does not guarantee permanent storage or recovery of any document.
Updates and Availability
GuruApps may update, change, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue Scanora, Pro features, free features, usage limits, compatibility, subscription offerings, or support for specific devices, languages, regions, or operating system versions at any time, subject to applicable law and App Store rules.
Intellectual Property
Scanora, including its name, design, code, interface, text, graphics, icons, screenshots, and related materials, is owned by GuruApps or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property and other laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership of any GuruApps intellectual property to you. You retain any rights you lawfully hold in the documents you scan or create.
Third-Party Services
Scanora may rely on Apple frameworks, App Store services, subscription validation, system sharing features, analytics, crash reporting, or other third-party services. GuruApps is not responsible for third-party services, and your use of them may be subject to their own terms, privacy policies, availability, and technical limitations.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how GuruApps handles information when you use our apps, website, subscriptions, and support channels. Please review it before using Scanora with personal, confidential, or sensitive documents.
Disclaimers
Scanora is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, GuruApps disclaims all warranties and conditions, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, quiet enjoyment, and non-infringement.
GuruApps does not warrant that Scanora will be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with every device or document, suitable for regulated or professional use, or that scans, OCR, search, suggested names, saved files, or exports will be complete or accurate.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, GuruApps will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost documents, missed deadlines, privacy incidents, disclosure of confidential information, inaccurate OCR, rejected filings, business losses, or other harm arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, Scanora.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to Scanora or related services if you violate these Terms, misuse the app, create risk for us or others, or use the app unlawfully. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of Scanora after an update means you accept the updated Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.
