Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of GuruRemote, including free features, GuruRemote Pro features, in-app purchases, subscriptions, support, and related services. GuruRemote is provided by GuruApps LLC ("GuruApps," "we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, purchasing, accessing, or using GuruRemote, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
App Store and Apple Terms
GuruRemote is distributed through the Apple App Store. These Terms supplement Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Your download, purchase, subscription, renewal, cancellation, refund request, and use of Apple platform features may also be governed by Apple's applicable terms, payment rules, and account settings. If a mandatory Apple term conflicts with these Terms, the applicable Apple term controls to the extent required. Apple is not responsible for the app's operation, maintenance, or support except as required by applicable App Store terms or law.
License
Subject to these Terms and applicable App Store rules, GuruApps grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use GuruRemote for personal, non-commercial purposes on Apple devices you own or control.
Supported TVs and Network Requirements
GuruRemote is designed for supported LG webOS and Samsung Tizen Smart TVs. Compatibility, pairing behavior, available commands, pointer support, keyboard input, power behavior, source selection, installed-app shortcuts, and other controls may vary by TV model, region, firmware version, installed TV apps, device settings, and network configuration.
Your iPhone and TV generally must be connected to the same local network. The iPhone may connect by Wi-Fi, while the TV may connect by Wi-Fi or Ethernet. Network discovery can be limited by router settings, guest networks, client isolation, firewalls, VPNs, privacy settings, or other network conditions. Manual IP connection does not guarantee that an otherwise unsupported or unreachable TV will connect.
Pairing, Saved TVs, and Power Controls
Your TV may display a pairing prompt, PIN, or confirmation request. You are responsible for authorizing GuruRemote only on TVs you own or are permitted to control. Saved TV details are intended to make reconnection faster, but reconnection can fail if the TV's address, firmware, power state, network, router, or permissions change.
Turning a TV on remotely may require Wake-on-LAN, Wake-on-Wireless-LAN, a saved hardware address, a compatible standby mode, or model-specific settings. GuruRemote does not guarantee that every supported TV can be powered on from every state.
Responsible Use
Use GuruRemote only with TVs you own or have permission to control. Do not use the app to disrupt another person's viewing, access devices without authorization, interfere with a network, test or exploit device security, or violate law or the rights of others. You are responsible for actions sent to a connected TV and for maintaining reasonable security on your local network.
GuruRemote Pro
Some advanced convenience and personalization features require GuruRemote Pro. GuruRemote currently offers two optional in-app purchase choices:
- GuruRemote Pro Annual: $12.99 per year through an auto-renewing subscription.
- GuruRemote Pro Lifetime: $24.99 as a one-time, non-consumable purchase for the lifetime of the app.
Prices are stated in U.S. dollars and may vary by country or region, currency, tax treatment, Apple pricing rules, promotions, or the App Store configuration shown at the time of purchase. The purchase screen in the app shows the exact product name, price, billing period, renewal terms, and included features before you confirm payment.
Annual Subscription Terms
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase.
- The annual subscription automatically renews unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period.
- Your account may be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period at the price shown by Apple.
- You can manage or cancel the subscription in your Apple ID or App Store subscription settings after purchase.
- Deleting GuruRemote does not automatically cancel an active subscription.
- If a free trial or introductory offer is provided, any unused portion may be forfeited when you purchase a subscription where applicable.
Lifetime Purchase Terms
GuruRemote Pro Lifetime is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase that unlocks the Pro entitlement for the lifetime of GuruRemote, subject to these Terms, continued App Store availability, compatible devices and operating systems, and our right to update, change, or discontinue the app as permitted by law. "Lifetime" does not mean the lifetime of the purchaser or any guaranteed minimum period of support, service, compatibility, or updates.
Restore Purchases and Entitlement Access
GuruRemote may provide a restore purchases option for eligible annual and lifetime purchases. Restoration and Pro access depend on Apple's purchase records, the Apple ID used for the original purchase, App Store availability, network connectivity, Family Sharing eligibility where offered, and the app's ability to validate entitlement status.
Refunds
Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple. Refund eligibility, approval, timing, and payment reversal are controlled by Apple and applicable App Store policies. GuruApps cannot guarantee that Apple will approve a refund request.
Updates and Availability
GuruApps may update, change, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue GuruRemote, free features, Pro features, supported TV models, network protocols, subscription offerings, purchase options, or support for specific devices and operating system versions at any time, subject to applicable law and App Store rules.
Third-Party Names and Services
GuruRemote may identify compatible TV platforms, manufacturers, apps, or services to explain compatibility. LG, webOS, Samsung, Tizen, and other names or marks belong to their respective owners. GuruRemote is an independent application and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by LG Electronics or Samsung Electronics.
GuruRemote may depend on Apple frameworks, App Store services, local-network APIs, TV protocols, analytics, crash reporting, entitlement validation, or other third-party services. We are not responsible for third-party services, firmware, networks, APIs, or changes, and your use of them may be subject to separate terms and technical limitations.
Intellectual Property
GuruRemote, including its name, design, code, interface, text, graphics, icon, screenshots, and related materials, is owned by GuruApps or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property and other laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership of GuruApps intellectual property to you.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how GuruApps handles information when you use our apps, website, purchases, and support channels. Your device may ask for Local Network permission so GuruRemote can discover and communicate with compatible TVs. Device and platform permissions remain subject to Apple settings and controls.
Disclaimers
GuruRemote is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, GuruApps disclaims all warranties and conditions, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of compatibility, reliability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, quiet enjoyment, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that GuruRemote will connect to every TV, remain connected, send every command, work through every router, support every firmware version, control every installed TV app, or remain uninterrupted or error-free.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, GuruApps will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost access, network disruption, unintended TV commands, device or property damage, loss of use, or business losses arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, GuruRemote.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to GuruRemote or related services if you violate these Terms, misuse the app, create risk for us or others, or use the app unlawfully. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of GuruRemote after an update means you accept the updated Terms.
